Rick was also the winner of the First Quiz, and, thanks to his diligence (he entered every quiz) and intelligence (he always scored in the top three for each quiz), he wins the Grand Prize.
As the Grand Prize winner, Rick will receive Elayne's extra copy of THE FIRESIGN THEATRE'S BIG MYSTERY JOKE BOOK.
Special Thanks for those who helped with the Quiz.
The following is a table. You
need at least Netscape 2.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0, or
another
Web Browser that supports tables.
This is a list of all entrants
to the Firesign Theatre Quiz, and their scores on each quiz.
(Entrants who scored less than 50% of the total possible points
for all four quizzes
are only noted by initials:I do not wish to publically embarrass
them!)
An asterisk (*) next to the name indicates a winner of one of the individual quizzes. Blank cells represent no entry.

I would like to thank the following individuals for their invaluable assistance to me as I developed these quizzes, and without whom "Everything You Know Is Wrong: The Firesign Theatre Quiz" would have been but a shadow of its current self:
Steve Crane, who first introduced me to the Firesign Theatre almost 20 years ago while we were killing time between cities on a College European tour. He quoted FT lines to me, usually with no context, laughing all the time. I, of course, thought he was daft. But somehow we stayed friends. Later that same summer, he came over to my house with a copy of "How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere At All." I listened to it (admittedly, with no idea what is was I was listening to; I think the first line I actually got on first listening was "everyone knew her as Nancy"), and the rest, as they say... Steve regrets to this day turning me on to them. A semi-Luddite, Steve has no email address, so you can't thank him personally (when we were roomates only 10 years ago, he still insisted on a dial phone -- he'd have one today, and wouldn't have a VCR or microwave had it not come as part of the dowry when he married his lovely wife, Mary). But I thank Steve publically here for getting the ball rolling, as it were.
John Walker, a former work buddy of mine at NASA and fellow FT and Internet phreak, who, in our discussion of the pop cultural references to many FT lines, got me to thinking that the one thing the Internet REALLY needs is a Firesign Theatre quiz. Thanks, John: hope all is well in Boston.
Elayne Wechsler-Chaput, who encouraged me to submit the quizzes as I developed them to The Four-Alarm FIRESIGNal as part of an "official quiz." This forced me to write unambiguous questions, and to verify my answers properly before awarding prizes. In other words, she made me do this Quiz properly and thoroughly, and not in the half-assed manner I originally intended. Thanks again for all your work on behalf of the FAlaFal, Elayne!
Phil Proctor, who responded to my emails asking for verification to sticky questions, and who shared my efforts with the other 3or4. He cleared up a lot of issues for me about some of the FTs work, and his enthusiasm of the project propelled me to see it through to completion. Thanks again for your efforts, Phil.
To Niles Ritter, developer of the first, true, and always Official Firesign Theatre Home Page, and keeper of the FAQ. When in doubt about a particular question or FT reference, I always turned to Nilesarchives. Keep up the good work, Niles.
And lastly, to various regular contributors to the a.c.f-t newsgroup and the #firesign IRC channel, who unknowingly gave me ideas for questions, challenged me on various points, filled in gaps in my knowledge, and generally encouraged me to "get it right." This group includes, but is by no means limited to: Cat Simril Ishikawa, "SirWill", Carl "HasNoName" Stone, Gary Russel, Tim Tuffield, "Spider" Katz, Sheldon Leemon, Diane Reese, and Rick Lampe.
There are others, I am sure, but information flew around me quickly and furiously at times, it was hard to remember who helped with what, intentionally or otherwise. But I thank all those seen, unseen, in person and virtual, who helped make Everything You Know Is Wrong: The Firesign Theatre Quiz what it eventually became. I hope most of you considered it a success, or at least a mild, fun diversion. I enjoyed doing it. Thank you all.
