How
do I establish a connection?
Go to apple menu,
control panel, ConfigPPP and select Open, or just use a MacTCP based program.
I've
upgraded to MacOS 8, and it doesn't work! Help!
You might need
to reconfigure your Internet Setup Assistant.
Double click the
hard drive, Internet folder, and the Internet Setup Assistant.
Supply your login
and password, and the DNS servers that you were given by BooNet.
Your SMTP
and POP3 server is boo.net
Your news server
is pnews.boo.net
How
do I configure MacTCP and DNS Settings?
Go to Apple Menu,
Control Panel, and open MacTCP. Highlight PPP in the main window, and choose
More.
Under "Obtain Addresses"
choose Server. Under "IP Address" choose Class C.
Under "Domain Name
Server Information" enter boo.net as the first domain. Enter a period
in the 2nd and 3rd boxes.
Under "IP Address"
enter 162.33.160.100 in the first two boxes.
Enter 162.33.160.110
in the third box down.
Set the top boxes
as default, then choose OK and restart your Macintosh.
How
do I set up my modem?
In the Apple Menu,
choose Control Panel and open ConfigPPP.
For the Port Name,
choose Modem Port, set Idle Timeout to 15, and Echo Interval to off.
Choose both Hangup
On Close, and Quiet Mode.
At the bottom,
choose the Config button. Enter the name of your PPP Server (BooNet).
Set Port
Speed to 57600. Set Flow Control to CTS and RTS (DTR).
If you have a GlobalVillage
modem, you should set the flow control to CTS (ONLY). Mark "Tone Dial"
Enter the access
phone number (provided by BooNet) and a modem-init string, and set the
Modem Connect Timeout to 60 seconds.
Select the Authentication
button, and enter your username in the Auth ID field.
Enter your password.
Choose OK, then
Done. Your configuration is complete.
